About Daybrook Lodge

We are a progressive, forward-looking lodge with a mission to make Freemasonry relevant to 21st Century men. We have a diverse membership made up of men of all ages, ethnicities and religions with common values and a shared commitment to our respective communities. We pride ourselves on our high standard of ritual, friendship and charitable works.

Daybrook Lodge has been a proud member of the UGLE Universities Scheme since 2007, but open to students and non-students alike with an interest in Freemasonry. Daybrook Lodge is also a member of the Association of Medical, University and Legal Lodges (AMULL).

We meet on the first Tuesday of the month from October-April at the Masonic Hall on Goldsmith Street. We typically start all meetings at 6pm, though this may vary depending on the event. In particular, we may start earlier for our installation meeting in February. Our meetings mainly follow Emulation Ritual, with some adaptations for our spectacular multiple-candidate ceremonies.

Join Us

Daybrook Lodge (and other lodges) have certain eligibility criteria for membership. You must:

  • Have a belief in a supreme being. You do not need to be practising a particular relgion, or belong to a particular faith. Our members are drawn from multiple different faiths, and all are welcomed.
  • Be of good character. Freemasonry is not to be used for personal gain, and we would like to make sure any potential members share our values of generosity, integrity and respect.

In addition, Daybrook Lodge is a male-only lodge – if you are female and wish to become a Freemason, then more information can be found by contacting the Order of Women Freemasons (OWF) or Honorable Fraternity of Ancient Freemasons (HFAF).

The joining process will consist of an initial email/phone conversation, followed by in-person meetings and a tour of our fabulous masonic hall in the centre of Nottingham. If you’re interested in joining the lodge or wish to discuss any aspect of joining further, please feel free to contact us through this form – being sure to mention Nottingham Trent University or Daybrook Lodge when contacted.

Charitable Work

Through charitable giving, Daybrook Lodge currently supports the Daybrook (Arnold) Foodbank. We have previously supported Shareware (a clothing poverty charity), Base 51 Young People’s Charity, and Tracey’s Street Kitchen working with the homeless population in the city centre.

Our members have also contributed and made personal efforts for MIND, Movember, and the Provincial Prostate Cancer initiative.

In Nottinghamshire, Freemasons have recently raised £96k for Breast Cancer research.
